Why does my article Not Rank on Google?

You’ve been keeping all the strategies to keep your ranking in Google. However, it didn’t go well even on the first page. How did it happen?

Understanding SEO is essential if you want your site to stand out. However, you’re not going to make any success until your content ranks well in Google search. That’s why you need that the article you’ll be posting is essential and should be relevant.

We all know that Google is known as one of the most frequented websites on the internet, and it is responsible for the bulk of search traffic to websites worldwide. Besides, having a prominent presence in search results is vital.

Understanding How Search Engines Work

We’re particularly curious about how Google search works. And this could be the answer!

Search engines would understand when to display your site and its pages in search results for relevant search queries. That is, it’s great that your goal is to deliver information, sell products, or provide a service.

What are the functions of a search engine?

The three basic functions of search engines are as follows: Crawling, Indexing, Ranking. Every function plays an important factor in SEO. But the main aspect that could definitely affect is the content itself.

Content is vital not only for search engines but also for people who visit your site page. Your article must first be visible to search engines in order to appear in search results. So, if you can’t find your web pages, there’s no chance you’ll ever appear in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Page). Take note that you can have the most beautiful site design in the world, but if people can’t discover you online, you’re not going to get any inquiries, organic traffic, or sales.

Seven Common Mistakes of Ranking in Google and How To Fix It

There could be several reasons why your website’s content isn’t ranking in Google, but most of the time, only a few elements are to blame. Let’s dive into some of the possible reasons search engines aren’t picking up your content.

Duplicate Content

In a nutshell, duplicate content is a site killer. The same content can hinder your Search Engine Optimization efforts and taint your clients’ search experience, even though it’s not done intentionally. You don’t want to create high-quality content, publish it, and then discover that your SEO is separated between the original page and an unintentional duplicate page.

There could be two types of duplicate content issues. And this could give you a warning and start fixing it on your own website.

How do the issues occur?

Google selects the right page for the search engine results if your site has pages with pretty much identical content. Whenever this occurs, the duplicate web pages are removed from the SERPs.

In such a case, it occurs in the following:

  • When a URL ends with a trailing slash and the identical page exists under a URL without the slash, you’ve effectively created two pages.
  • Aside from that, your content management system (CMS) may be producing duplicate content.
  • One of the first blocks of text content that a search engine encounters is the meta-information on a page. You can have duplicate content if you have numerous pages with the same or similar meta tags and the page title.
  • Some online services, for example, construct URLs with product categories, which might lead to duplicate content concerns.

Ways to Fix the Issues

First, you can access Google Search Console and adjust the settings to address this. Redirecting the non-www version to the www version is usually the most common choice. If that’s so, you’ll like to implement a 301 redirect from one version to another at the domain level.

On the other hand, if feasible, make sure each of your pages has distinct meta tags or meta descriptions. Also, some CMSs are built to produce content issues that you can’t fix. You can make efforts to remedy the problem in other circumstances, based on how well the article is being copied.

Lastly, make a list of all the pages on the website that have the same content. Figure out which of your competitors are already in search rankings and attracting visitors. Then rewrite your own article to make it even more distinctive and great than ever before. You could also think about WordPress site plugins that might assist you in fighting scrapers regularly.

  1. Ranking for Wrong Keywords

Keywords assist Google in matching content to queries entered into its search engine. And if you’re not using the target keywords, your clients may be missing out on the one page they’re looking for. Targeting the relevant kind of main keywords is the basis of a successful search strategy and avoids keyword stuffing. You can drive the most traffic, quality leads, and conversions for your brand by identifying your top keyword chances.

However, you must first understand all of your alternatives in order to determine which kind of keywords would work best in your plan. This is to conduct thorough keyword research to identify appropriate long-tail, low-competition keywords for content optimization.

  • Targeting keywords
  • Keywords by length (Short-tail, Mid-tail, Long-tail Keywords)
  • Buyer keywords
  • On-site keywords
  • Google ads keywords
  1. Not Leveraging Social Media Accounts: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram

Organic social media marketing and SEO should work together to deliver value and relevance to your target audience. Please keep blog articles in your social media accounts to rank higher.

It would also help if you stayed visible and active on social media. Then maintain your information up to date if you want to improve your SEO efforts, which you do. Google uses social signals to figure out which websites are active and which ones are dormant. This informs them as to which should be ranked higher.

  1. Slow Site Speed

Guess how long most websites take to load on a mobile device? And how long do you think the majority of users will stay on the website pages before leaving?

If a visitor navigates to a page on your website and has to wait for more than a second for it to load, they are likely to abandon the page, potentially costing you a conversion. As a result, Google gives your website’s loading speed a lot of weight in its rankings. In fact, they have a complete upgrade dedicated to improving page speed.

How to solve it?

The page speed does impact SEO, as well as on the google ranking of your article. It is a direct component in ranking in Google, so you need to find a tool to figure out how the speed works on your pages.

Ensure your photos are the proper size, appropriate file type, and reduced for the web. Create a template for pictures that you regularly use on your sites, such as buttons and icons, using CSS sprites.

More than that, the volume of traffic you receive, the software your server employs, and the hosting provider you use all affect your server response time. Look for and address performance bottlenecks like slow database queries, delayed routing, or a lack of appropriate RAM to enhance your server response time.

  1. Websites Link & Backlinks Matter in Your Content

Links inform Google about the structure of your content. Google now has a better understanding of your website’s purpose. Aside from that, you will have a tough time finding your article if it lacks high-quality links.

Does anybody endorse your article? This is how backlinks work.

A backlink can severely impact your Google rankings, regardless of how great your content is. High-quality backlinks direct users to your site from other websites, resulting in an increase in traffic.

Here’s how you can come up with the links:

  • More internal links in your niche include a link to a high-authority website.
  • Establish links towards other pages on the website.
  • For backlinks, write a guest blog post for an influencer’s website. When you submit a guest article, you’ll be given a profile with a link to your site.
  • Send emails and ask to look at your article.
  1. Not Keeping Track on the Mobile-Friendliness

Mostly, everyone now has mobile devices. In fact, as time goes by it evolves, and holds desktop computers out of track. This means that most people who visit your website will do so on a mobile device rather than a desktop computer.

How to solve it?

First, use the Mobile-Friendly Test to see if your website is mobile-friendly. Once you discover that it isn’t working well, it’s time to make a change. Whatever Google is concerned about on search results, you should be concerned with as well.

Making your website mobile-friendly is simple. Choose a WordPress theme that meets your requirements and is mobile-friendly. It would be best to accommodate all of the varied screen sizes in today’s environment when consumers browse the internet on various devices every day.

  1. You Didn’t Sign up for Google My Business

You have seen that you’re adding the right keyword or structuring backlinks and internal links. However, it seems that your article didn’t go up on the ranking. If you’re not doing it now, check this error and fix it as soon as possible.

Today’s businesses require targeted Google visibility. In such a way, most companies are aware that this necessitates optimizing their website and Google Ads. Still, few are aware that a third entity, their Google business listing, also needs optimization. Signing up on Google My Business is beneficial since Google My Business receives millions of monthly searches.

Winning Over Competitors: A Way to Rank From Google Searchers

SEO is doing great on winning from others. However, always remember that it’s also about growth rather than excellence. There are several causes why content or a website could not be ranked and can be appealing to strive to optimize every single piece.

Your content is great. You’ve used all of the appropriate keywords. But there could be factors that customers may want outside your article that they could have found in other competitors. You are definitely not impressing them.

If that’s the case, ask yourself:

  • Are you too on sales talk rather than impressing them with relevant content?
  • Do you not solve what they want, their needs, and other questions they’ve come up with?
  • Are you trying to persuade people to choose one option over another, even if it isn’t the best option for them?

Keep in mind that you could have a way of picking and choosing what items or niche you wish to execute on. Nevertheless, a few other elements would only get you up to this point if you don’t have the essentials in place — a speedy website with regularly updated, informative, and reliable content that’s SEO-friendly.

But if you solve those issues, you’ll rank in no time. And keep in mind that you need your content, keywords, webpages, and backlink profile all up to date. Thus these solve user issues.

Turn Things Around & Take Your Steps to Rank on Google
